The "Tetraminx II" is based on the original design with hollowed out parts to save some material and shipping costs so that we do not have to increase the price. By removing the cap tiles it exposes the screw in case you like to adjust the "Tetraminx II" for speedcubing. If this model proves popular we will phase out the original solid pieces "Tetraminx" With plastic tiles.

The Tetraminx was invented in the early 1980’s, by Uwe Meffert. It is a twist to mix puzzle, and as with all Meffert’s puzzles, No corners have been cut whilst producing this product!

Mechanism The Tetraminx can be rotated around any of its triangular sides by multiples of 120?X. This makes it hard enough to be a real challenge, but easy enough to master, without help, in a few days. It has precision injection molded parts and spring-loaded bearings which make operation easy and exact.

The Idea of the Puzzle

The idea of the puzzle is to scramble the colors and then return them to the initial state of four single-colored sides. There are still about a Million possible positions of the Tetraminx. It is Theoretically possible to solve the Tetraminx from any of those positions in 8 moves or less, but in actuality it should take about 20 moves once you have mastered it.
